Biography

I first began taking photos four years ago following my grade eight graduation. I recieved a Kodak Easyshare 3.1 mexapixel point-and-shoot as a gift from my grandmother. It wasn't too fancy, though I learned the basics of shutterspeed, apeture, and exposure. I enjoyed that camera for a while, until one evening at my friend's cottage - it was the first time I had seen a night sky so beautiful...but sadly the shutterspeed could slow down to a maximum of about 4 seconds. Shortly thereafter, my Kodak Easyshare bustilated...as all things do made in China...and I began my quest for a new camera.

In September 2006, I was lucky enough to recieve a Nikon D50 as a gift from my uncle with an 18-55 mm lens kit. That lens died about two years ago and now I have an 18 - 135 mm f5.6 lens, complete with a circular polarizer. Since recieving my camera I've worked on many projects which include Photography Editor of 2006/2007 E.S.A Yearbook, Yearbook Editor of 2007/2008 E.S.A Yearbook, photographing many of the shows performed by Donlands & Mortimer (a local talent), helping to design and take photos for the album cover of D&M's "Scylla" EP, participating in a photoblog with seven other talented photographers (Engineering Photography Club.

I'm currently attending the University of Toronto for TrackOne (General) Engineering, so you can imagine with the workload I won't be able to update this too much. But I promise I'll update it more than once every two years. Really promise.

Until Next Time Folks,
A.S
